Philosophy is the personal relationship one develops overtime concerning their particular reality in relation to the history of ideas.  Becoming the articulated manifestation of how an individual navigates the complexities of life, philosophy serves the individual and the collective equally acting as a guide, to both be followed, built upon, and most importantly question. Cerebrally philosophy is the investigation of general and fundamental questions, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, morality, and language. In its most casual form, philosophy can be understood as the articulation of an individual or group’s most basic beliefs, concepts, and attitudes.

The word "philosophy" comes from the Ancient Greek φιλοσοφία (philosophia), which translates to "love of wisdom", and is ascribed to be first used by the Greek thinker Pythagoras (570BC-495BC).  To love wisdom is to continually aim for wisdom, wisdom being a deep-rooted connection to the divine (something investigating what is greater than oneself) that allows for the gaining, application, and utility of knowledge.

Personally, philosophy is a meditation. The rational gymnastics philosophy requires has greatly expanded and challenged my notions, viewpoints, and the way I understand reality.  By no means is philosophy a means to an end, but rather a venue of exploration that can enhance any investigation. For me the foundational institutional questions are just and important and worth talking about as the mind boggling unanswerable questions.  I am open to, but not overly certain that all questions have answers.  What I am confident about is that all questions can be explored and the investigation (the journey) is more important than the answer (the destination).  Through passionate and thoughtful exploration personal and social existence is enhanced.   For one thing is certain, change is inevitable, philosophy is a tool that helps use to see, direct, and take ownership of this change.
